What is Swaging?
Swaging is the term used for attaching fittings to the cable. Usually when you swage you will swage a swaging stud or ferrule to the cable that will then connect with the fitting itself.
Non-Tensioning fittings:
(Stop-End)
Stop-End fittings require swaging and can be used on one end of the cable where tensioning is not necessary. Stop-end fittings are easily concealed.

Swageless Fittings
Swageless fittings are installed by hand at the job site and require no special equipment. With swageless fittings at least one end of the cable does not contain a fitting, meaning that the cable can be fed thru intermediate posts and the post holes can be drilled close to the size of cable.

Swaged Fittings
Swaged fittings have stud or ferrules connected on the ends of the cable by the manufacturer. Swaging requires special equipment that can be rented in kits, the benefit of renting a swage kit is to swage on site eliminating the need to drill large holes thru intermediate posts.
